General Cancellation Policy

Substitution

Where an attendee is unable to attend an event, a substitute person may attend in his/her place.

Cancellation

A full refund will be given up to 5 working days prior to the event commencing.

A 50% refund will be given for cancellation received between 5 days and up to 24 hours prior to the event.

No refund will be given for cancellation within 24 hours of an event.

Substitutions or cancellations must be made via email to the Property Institute in writing via email to c.flannigan@property.org.nz. Written notification can be supported by a phone call to 0800 698 258 or 04 471 5540.

Health and Safety

The health, safety and wellbeing of event attendees is paramount.  Attendees must abide by all health and safety instructions and signage at event venues and site tours. Attendees must always conduct themselves professionally, abide by the event venue’s host responsibility policy and exercise good judgment with respect to alcohol consumption at social networking events.

Covid-19 Health and Safety

The health, safety and wellbeing of event attendees is paramount. Attendees are expected to follow Covid-19 safety measures in accordance with recommendations of the New Zealand Government. Covid-19 Cancellation Policy

Notwithstanding the General Cancellation Policy, if requirements or recommendations of the New Zealand Government change, as a result of Covid-19, that make attendance at the event untenable for an attendee, he/she may cancel, and a full refund for the event registration fee will be given. Any Covid-19 related cancellations must be in writing via email to the Property Institute via email to c.flannigan@property.org.nz and supported by a valid medical certificate.

Once started, if the event is stopped due to New Zealand Government requirements, a partial refund will be given commensurate to the proportion of the event enjoyed by event attendees, prior to the stoppage.

The Property Institute reserves the right to alter, postpone or cancel events, or take in-person events partially or wholly online (and adjust the event registration fee accordingly). If an event is cancelled, a full refund of the event registration fee will be given, or the event registration can be transferred to a new event date (if available and as agreed with the attendee).

Other than the event registration fee, The Property Institute will not be liable to refund or cover any other losses incurred by the attendee related to attending the event.

Event Photography

Photographs may be taken during events. By registering for an event you give consent for the Property Institute of New Zealand to use photographs containing your image for reporting and promotional purposes in Property Institute media which could include (but is not limited to) social media, the Property Professional Magazine, newsletters, reports, pamphlets and websites.

The Property Institute undertakes to act responsibly and exercise good judgement in the use of photographic images.

Privacy of Personal Information

Your privacy is important to us, and we are committed to ensuring that your personal information is protected and that we abide by the terms of the Privacy Act 2020. Event registration information collected from you will be used to carry out the necessary organisational elements for the event and to deliver a great event experience to you. Use includes but is not limited to:

a) Event registration and payment.

b) Communications such as via phone, email, on-line newsletters and through our third-party event management system, website and mobile app(s).

c) For conferencing: networking and communication opportunities with event organisers, attendees, sponsors and exhibitors online using the “Whova” conference website and mobile app. The Privacy Policy for Whova can be viewed here>>.
